Region 5’s workforce development efforts focus on strengthening and supporting the local public health workforce across our nine health departments. Through shared resources, training, professional development, and regional collaboration, we work to build the knowledge, skills, and support staff need to succeed in their roles and serve their communities.

Our current priorities include: burnout, accountability, trust, feedback, communications, AI in public health, change management, funding and budgets, and grant writing.
